Children of Aldebaran

In the years before destruction, several centuries after the fall of dragonkind, the world of Aldebaran would become embroiled in a hateful war between Caro and Beastfolk. It is said two Theotians rose at the behest of the Primordial Wyrm, Hyakuuwuu and Ebenkrai, to help contain and heal the world's wounds. When these two gods ascended, two grand changes were made to the Weave.
One of these two changes was the conceiving of children. An effect washed over the world that would allow for any humanoid to procreate with another humanoid. The children that were born under such circumstances were made to live, the Weave accomodating them. Typically, such a child bears one parent's qualities and species. An intermingling between a Saetori and a Human for instance would typically result in either a Human or Saetori. As per Hyakuuwuu's ideals, everyone was free to love another.
Before this, half-breeds were the only possibility of mixed race children. More often than not though, such children would die shortly after child birth, or even in the womb. It is theorized that this phenomenon only takes place when such a child would face this circumstances, their life prevented from being cut short due to malfunction. Half-breed children can still be born, half-elves being the most common example. In fact, [Humans still carry the special quality of being very promiscuous creatures. Out of all the races, they are the ones to have the most variety of half-breed children, second place belonging to dragons.
