Enos (en OHS)

Enos the Enishan

The Adaite called Enos, or Enos the Enishan, lead his people to build a settlement in the north of Enish known as Briga. Though there is some inconsistencies over it, the settlement was believed to be named after his wife, who in some tales is alive, while others that she passed away before the founding.

Aside from founded the settlement, Enos is credited with creating the first mud bricks. This may be incorrect however. There is some evidence mud bricks were already in use in other settlements before Briga was founded. Enos however, may be the first to fire bake these bricks to make them stronger.

Much of what we know of Enos comes from the Tales of Kigal and Enos. If he existed it would be during the Randond Period in the land of Enish, somewhere near the Canaab Sea if the 'Meeting Story' of the Tales is correct. In the story Enos is a newly married Adaite man living with his wife in western Enish. One day while he is out near the Canaab Sea he meets the Kigal the Child of Irkalla, A Dragon from the lands of Gir Kur. The two strike up a conversation about each other's lives and then Kigal follows the man home to live with Enos' family. Later stories give him children, though never more than in passing refences.

Beyond the first two stories in the Tales, Enos is portrayed in many ways through the other tales added to the book over time. Most of these stories show him a carrying man, loving his family and new friend Kigal. He is often a reluctant traveler with his friend as they go on adventures and meet new people. It is usually Enos that learns whatever lesson the story they are in is and shares it with the dragon. The tales end with him founding Briga.
