Onira
Geography
Onira is a southern continent in Aligar, it sits just under Shaedor and it connected to Opira by a small straight.
Ecosystem
The rainfall in this region moves from the south to the north, causing the southern side of the mountains to be extraordinarily wet and the northern side to be very dry. The southern hemisphere is also quite warm, these are the perfect conditions for tropical rain forests and swamps.
History
Onira was settled by the dwarves and gnomes near the beginning of the Era of the Long Lived. They were very well established populations by the time the elves came around near the end of the era. Gnomes and dwarves, both being races that adequately hide their cities, were not too bothered by the elves invasion. That is, until the Farin-Yas Loxodon became angry at the elves rash and destructive habits, leading to the Great Loxodon Defiance. The loxodon were 'allowed' to live in the White Wasteland. The elves, feeling confident now in their authority over the land, continued to explore southward. At the end of the Era of the Long Lived, when the elves started to fall, the gnomes, dwarves, and loxodon paired together to wipe them out. Already weakened by the loss of magic and inability to survive, the elves fell. In the The Before Times gnomes, dwarves, and loxodon tried to repair some of the damage from the elves and restore the ecosystems. Also damaged by the loss of magic, these races spent this era adjusting their ways of life. By the time of The Awakening the three races had established cities and nations and magic had made its way back into the world.
