Chapter 8, Session 10 Chapter end: Certainty in solitude

General Summary

Oh god please I'm so hungry but I couldn't eat any more of that breakfast!

• Anastasia accepts one of Fen's stale rice balls as a breakfast substitute.

The day started with the party again split from one another with Kodo waking and leading an open palm session in The Greenstone Fields once again and being joined by seven individuals. 
Meanwhile, the rest of Persicorum gathered together once again and Olympia, in a moment of crisis and trying to better understand her new knowledge of WHAT she is, tried to make breakfast... which was a reflection of her limited understanding of humanoid eating habits. With breakfast finished and the party 'semi' satisfied by it Olympia and Ez decided to visit the records tower of Blackstone and complete some new research whilst the rest of the party decided to relax in Xatannah's Gifts knowing they would all soon meet in the Greenstone Fields for their meeting with Xan Prayerkeep. 
Olympia and Ez visited the records tower and found a new worker, as they were greeted by the chipper and chatty Earland Rennuin Valyn Terrow Mcdowell Hillskip. Ez revelaed that he was completing research into souls and pacts after hearing about Anastasia losing her soul to The Unwaking and so he wanted to see if there was any knowledge on how to retrieve a soul. 
However, despite being assisted by Olympia he did not find many solutions to his quandry beyond just two that seemed to offer something akin to soul regained:

• An account in a diary by a man who claimed he reclaimed his soul by killing the one he gave his soul to and consuming their flesh... but Ez was unsure about the sanity of this man.
• Alternatively, there was a theory that if Anastasia was to flip her alignment entirely she would be able to forge her new soul... but with an alignment of 'chaotic good' that would involve her becoming an evil creature.

Ez and Olympia however, also learned about two other individuals that visit the records tower often; Thulian Seranos and a conjurer that often came in and completed controversial research.
Calling the search a loss. Ez and Olympia joined the rest of the party in the Greenstone Fields to meet Xan Prayerkeep and Lyren Killian once again. 

Seeing their agreement, a decidedly smug and awfully pleased Xan Prayerkeep remarked how impressed he was with Persicorum's decision and stated that, in time, as they build trust he would share more information and resources with them but, for now, he needed them to head to Fallrock to find the key of the Wanderer specifically as he claimed he received word... pre-death from Silas Povir who explained that they were digging into Fallrock in search of something. 
On the issue of the party reaching the place (on the other side of Alturis), Xan agreed to give the party a Skyship with a rooter; partly to give proof of the considerable resources at his disposal. He also gave the party Lyren Killian who would act as a supporter, advisor and would check in with Xan regularly. He also gifted the party a chest of regular healing potions upon them being requested. 
With that, the party left the city of Blackstone behind and, using their skyship, began travelling towards Fallrock... a 3 day journey. 


Admittedly, not much happened during travel, with Olympia caught in a spiral of doubt, Anastasia reeling from her lack of soul and her fear of Dashilla the Dark Queen, Thordak's obsession with training, Fen's bookwork and Kodo's self-imposed distancing from the group... coupling this with the off-putting and unsettling presence of Lyren on board as well it seemed that Ez, still trying to get to grips with the group, worked hard to act as a therapist... even transforming into an animal for an evening which lifted spirits. 


On the third day however, it seemed the monotony came to an end as the party, only half a day out from Fallrock, watched as a storm started to form and a stormrider atop a flying kraken began to fly at speed towards the skyship...
