Edmonton
Edmonton is a strange space. Politically unaligned. The people of Edmonton spirituality of the Cave of Longing and the creature within known simply as 'The Asker'. Many who return from the cave of longing stay inEdmonton and many of those that stay.
The town itself is a simple farming space with a similar style to Aria. Many will turn up, claim a home and simply stay there as long as they need to. Mystery pervades the place of course and there are hundreds of rumours that fly around about the town. They don't have a mayor and, in theory, could be easily swallowed up by Freyfrost... the only reason they haven't is Queen Frey's knowledge that the people have interacted with the cave of longing and serve whatever entity resides inside that dark, sacred space.
The town is also the home to 'The Bargainers Chip'. If you have a leaflet, you can enter the bargainers chip to trade.
However, during the time skip, Edmonton was destroyed almost entirely and has now become a military outpost for the Aist Mages of Freyfrost home to none of the NPC's that once resided there.
The shops are currently out of commission as a result and the NPC's are considered Missing in Action.
Demographics
Edmonton is incredibly varied in races and have little regard for which race is superior, most of them choose to worship the asker and so why would they care about race getting in the way of their faith?
Government
Edmonton is governed in an anarchist manner. They have no guards, no one is in charge and they run more like a self-sustaining cult/community.
Often, if someone has made it to Edmonton then they must be tough and it's advised you don't poorly pick fights.
Defences
Edmonton is built within an Ancestral Ring a stone plinth that protects Edmonton from threats when the sun goes down. This Ring was built by the Asker and summons the dead of Edmonton to protect the town at night.
This means Edmonton's citizens don't concern themselves with guards or police and every one completes their own business. It also means that, during the daytime, the people of Edmonton are prepared for assault and there is a deep sense of 'love and protect thy neighbour' in this town... though there have been the occassional cases of murder and banditry.
Infrastructure
Edmonton is self-sustaining and often use hunters, butchers and skilled vegetable farmers for a relatively simple life. They utilise trade with Umala privateers in the area as well as Freyfrost to ensure they are amiable and as a result they occassionally have luxury baked goods and breads... for a higher markup than usual.
Guilds and Factions
The Claret Order have a small point of base here with Curious Curiosity's.
Additionally, the Umala privateers and monster hunters often complete trade here and rest in the many empty shells of houses. Edmonton acts as a homestead for the weary, the tough and the desperate.
