The beginning of recorded history is marked by the supposed event of the First Forgiving, the arrival of a powerful Angel to repair the "godless chaos" that the world supposedly had been plunged into.
From the First Forgiving at year 0 to the Current Day at year 66,500 on the world of Many.
The first Era of recorded history, marked by the arrival of the First Forgiveness. In this age, the idea of the gods returned and religion took the centre stage in all cultures. At this time, the cultures were scattered across the world and little international contact was made, save occasional exploratory expeditions.
The beginning of recorded history is marked by the supposed event of the First Forgiving, the arrival of a powerful Angel to repair the "godless chaos" that the world supposedly had been plunged into.
Naval warfare sees a drastic rise in this era as cities in Akden, Kaurin, Sarik and Elin grow at massive speeds. The War of the Divide takes place between the coastal empires of Cethine and Otrin.
The War of the Divide was the first in a series of massive conflicts between the coastal empires of Cethine and Otrin, sparked when Emperor Ubaid of the Nikar Empire attempted to open a trade route between his empire and the Free States of the Breakstone Coast in Cethine and had an entire fleet destroyed by the Highshield Empire.
The Cataclysm was a world-altering event- the release of magic power into the world via the Rift destroyed the Sarik Isles and all it's peoples, however it brought magic into Many like never seen before, heralding an era of unrivalled and uncontrolled havoc and confusion.
In likely the most world-changing event in recorded history, The Elven Mage-Orders of the Sarik Isles created The Rift, a colossal device of immense power built to release true magic into the world, transforming the Elves into powerful wielders of magic. Upon activation, the Rift destroyed the Sarik Isles, killing a majority of the Elves on Many and releasing powerful magic into the world, heralding a new era in a changed world.
Without warning, a new era dawns as emperor Amemnon Kaldar grows his force from a civilian militia into the first and only worldwide empire in the history of Many. Many say he is the Second Forgiveness, a gift from the gods themselves, and he creates order in the chaos of the Era of Division.
Though at the time it seemed a small event, the founding of the People's Army of Ramiron by Amemnon Kaldar was the first step on the path to the formation of the Kaldar Imperium, an immense, multi-national faction which would rule most of the world for millennia.
Kaldar's desire to conquer the lands of Kiadin had long been clear, but the beginning of a twenty-year campaign of conquest came subtly- Kaldar began to force large trades, both in resources and territories, on the Dwarven kingdoms. Soon, the Kaldar Imperium was in control of the economy in a vast portion of Kiadin, but were surprised to find massive resistance as the motives of Kaldar's forces became clear, the long-running diplomatic campaign coming to a brutal end in the Battle of the Keystone Valley.
On the 20th of Moonshine, weeks after the battle for the Keystone Valley which brought great devastation to the Ambershield Clan in Kiadin, an Accord was signed by the Kiadin-based Dwarven Clans of Ambershield, Sterngate, Fireblaze, Wrathlance and Hammerfell in agreement that they would all assist one another should the Kaldar Imperium attack any of them.
By the 12th of Moonshine in 58,500, Kaldar was beginning to set his eyes on smaller but highly valuable territories to conquer, now that Taurin and Valdur were in his hands, as well as well-established colonies in Tsiro, Diskar, Merdis and Kasre. Kotoxi Mari's natural resources made it a target for conquering- Kaldar also despised greenskins, and wanted to take more territory from the "murderous savages".
Kaldar's implementation of a new global currency system- the gold piece- was controversial, but compared nothing to his next decision- to create a global language from the native languages of Valdur. Both the new currency and new language were vehemently refused and resisted across the Imperium. Dismayed, Amemnon decided to sign the Unity Accord, which legally forced these new systems upon all of his settlements.
Amemnon Kaldar's reign had lasted millennia- with each month, the territories and power of the Kaldar Imperium grew. It seemed an unstoppable force, and the dawn of a new era of a changed world. But no one could have expected the assassination of Amemnon Kaldar- apparently his drow housemaid Sister Silbyrine laced his tea with a poison so strong it could "kill a god, and so it did", causing his agonising death. It was not long until the Kaldar Imperium began to break down.
