Fyoreland
One of the least extreme lands in Sedden, Fyoreland is home to a number of human cities which all fall under a single united name in the hopes of keeping peace. Culturally, Fyoreland is a mishmash of the various surrounding nations, with many who wish for a simpler life making their way to the green fields and forests of the Fyore. Perfect for cultivating plants, in the new industrial era the world has found itself in, the farms of Fyoreland are their largest source of income, shipping out grains, vegetables, and fruits of all kinds out to the other nations.
Fyoreland was once a great empire, built on the ruins of a barbaric tyrant named Kris Fyore. He was known for his horrid practices, like staking the women and children of the villages he pillaged, and leaving them for passerbys to see as warnings. He'd attack at night, during days of religious rest or festivity, and fight dirty. He'd been well known to use poison, disease, and foul magic in his conquests. When the lords of the land banded together and finally slew his warband, they'd agreed to put their differences aside and found a country where his ruins once stood, as an act of defiance and growth.
Fyoreland is governed by a council of lords, with any lord who rules over a city of ten thousand or more having a seat at the council table in the capital city of Ria. Once there was only three, and now the Fyoreland council of lords gathers just under twenty every three months to make political decisions and discuss the future of the country. With little nationalism or leader based ambition, the people of Fyoreland are happy sitting by and living simple lives, and the lords of the council are happy in their homes, collecting tithe and worrying not for the squabbles of pettier nations.
Culture
Being in the middle of everything, and having been a jumbled mass of various lands from the start, the culture of Fyoreland is inconsistent at best, and at times can be downright chaotic. With trade from all directions flowing into the land, immigrants from the nomadic cultures of the south bleeding into the nation, and all manner of conflict happening between nations that Fyoreland sits between, it's only a matter of time before the lines of tradition become blurred. Fyoreland's diverse population makes for a wonderful display of unity when it comes to holiday seasons, with nearly any traveler likely able to find someone in a city celebrating what they do. With the obvious exception of the rather violent traditions of the Venian.
