Known by many in the
Crescent Empire as a very kind, flamboyant, and somewhat eccentric wizard, the man known as Marvelous Marcus is the proud owner and proprietor of
Marcus's Marvelous Merchandise & Tattersail Transport, a magic item and accessory shop popular with adventurers, craftsmen and mages alike.
Marcus and his elf assistant/ adopted daughter Rachel operate the magic shop out of a transportable purple tent, that has the amazing property of being much larger on the inside than it is on the outside. Marcus himself has claimed that even he does not know how far back the tent goes, and relies on a security system of mimics to dissuade potential intruders and thieves.
Before starting his business,
The Arcane University employed Marcus as the Head Magister in the school of Pyromancy, one of the youngest practitioners to receive the title. Before that, he also participated as an exchange student to Velant's prestigous
The Phoenix Academy. He resigned a number of years into his career, however, refusing to elaborate other than saying he abused his position and power in a moment of weakness.
Marcus acted as a great friend and supporter of the adventuring party
The Companions, helping them greatly during the
Battle of the New Dawn and repairing the city of
Imperia afterwards.
While still running his business, Marcus has recently taken up different roles, being an advisor to
Empress Alora Crescentia and offering his magical expertise to groups such as the Reclaimers.
