Whatever it takes.
Taking place shortly following the enactment of
The Kindling and the lunar fallout from the damaging of Arkos' moon, the Battle of the New Dawn is believed to be one of the most significant events of the Third Age. Following the return of
Nex and the invasion of his undead forces into the
Crescent Empire's capital of
Imperia, the battle was fought for the fate of the planet Arkos, with a breach in
The Barrier of Providence looming over
Crescentia.
The battle was fought between the adventuring party
The Companions and their allies, against
Nex and his dark and undead forces. The majority of the battle took place in the city of
Imperia, with the forces of
Harthas,
Underlight,
Crepsucule Pass, and the
Crescentian Imperial Legion clearing a path to the center of the city for the Companions.
The Dreadspire, newly rebuilt, had positioned itself in the middle of the Trispire Imperial Palace, housing the remaining
The Followers of Nex and Nex himself at the tower's apex. The battle reached its climax at the top of the Dreadspire, with the Companions confronting Nex himself.
The party was able to banish Nex, reversing the effects of the Kindling and ending the battle. Despite the victory, Nex technically accomplished his goal of creating a new realm, albeit a broken and unfinished one. While the souls claimed by the Kindling were returned to the Mortal Realm, they were displaced, and Imperia itself was heavily damaged from the battle. These factors coupled with the death of
Emperor Lunin and the creation of the
Lunar Wastes has left the
Crescent Empire in a state of recovery and an uncertain future. Still, it is a future that would not exist if not for the banishment of the Screaming Tyrant.
