Tiberius Hadrianus

Legatus of the Northern Legions (a.k.a. The Winter Wolf)

Tiberius is the oldest son of Ellis II and has been serving for the past 10 years as general of the legions in Korribon. He led multiple campaigns to destroy or expel barbarian tribes that refuse to recognize the empire, and has earned great acclaim for expanding the empire in the north and negotiating lucrative mining contracts with the Dwarven Alliance in the newly conquered territories.
Tiberius is well loved by his legions, both for his successes on the battlefield and his unwavering commitment to his veterans. Even the barbarian tribes who refuse to recognize the empire's authority show Tiberius the respect due an accomplished warrior.
Tiberius is the heir apparent to Ellis II and is extremely popular with the common citizens of the empire. However, he has been away from Hadrianus for so long that he has few connections within the senate and upper classes. Rumors have started circulating that Tiberius has "gone native" and is too sympathetic to the barbarian tribes to effectively rule the empire.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Strong and well-built.  Tiberius has scars all over his chest and arms from riding to the front of the lines to fight with his men.

Mental characteristics

Accomplishments & Achievements

Tiberius's crowning achievement was the defeat of the Djarin and the capture of their king, Deleanor. The barbarian king has not been seen in several years and is believed to be imprisoned in Korribon.   Once the Djarin were defeated Tiberius negotiated an extremely lucrative contract with the Dwarven Alliance for the mithril mines in the Djarin's former territory. This contract has brought considerable wealth to the region, which transformed Korribon from a border fortress to one of the largest cities in the empire.

Failures & Embarrassments

Privately, Tiberius has questioned his father's policy on expansion into the north. He has come to know the various barbarian tribes of the north quite well and has grown to appreciate them as warriors. Tiberius has been quietly accepting barbarians into his legions, as their martial prowess, combined with imperial tactics and training, make them extremely formidable foes. Tiberius has done this without permission from his father, although he suspects that a network of spies is keeping his father well informed of his every move.

Mental Trauma

Despite Tiberius's accomplishments, and sharing a gift for martial genius like his father, their relationship has deteriorated while he has been away from the capital. The two have barely corresponded over the past several years, and exiling himself to Korribon has only added to the friction between them.

Intellectual Characteristics

Is gregarious and inspiring, with the impeccable bearing that comes from years of successful campaigning on the frontiers.  He is also extremely impatient, and finds himself bored and agitated when holed up in Korribon instead of campaigning in the wilderness.  Tiberius doesn't mince words, and has little time for the wagging tongues of the political and senate classes back home.

Morality & Philosophy

Tiberius views his legions as family and does everything he can to further their interests.  He finds politics abhorrent, as he prefers fighting a known enemy over the backstabbing and machinations of the imperial court.  It is an open secret that once he is emperor, Tiberius plans on disbanding the imperial court and ruling with a council of generals.
