Asylum is a tall city, a fishing port, and a hub of travel and trade. It features a lighthouse that provides safe travel by sea.

Demographics

Primarily Suktu, Polda, and Adalei. A fair few inhabitants of Asylum are wealthy and successful merchants.

Defences

Due to the fact that Asylum is surrounded by cliffs and slopes, approaching from any direction except from the sea is difficult for those who would wish its inhabitants harm. The city is also ringed by the classic walls always found around tall cities.

Industry & Trade

Not only does Asylum bring in vast amounts of fish each day, it's a major stop on the trade route between several nearby cities.

History

Asylum was settled later than most tall cities because large ships needed time to become advanced enough to make their way to its dilapidated docks. Though it took a while for intelligent peoples to arrive at the abandoned city, by the time they did, they were quite used to the process of repairing and restoring tall cities, which meant that Asylum was up and running in a short period of time. As people continued to expand their trade routes, Asylum quickly became a vital stop for many merchants, boosting its economy and population significantly at the same time.

Geography

Asylum lies on a slope that leads to a bay, so the entire city is terraced. Its outer edges are significantly higher in elevation than its center and its docks.
