Notes

The Knights of the Golden Order have a meeting where it's learned that First Mate Trevor was officially ousted as captain of the Zolt. He said that his own crew won't take orders from him because Pate is a good leader and agreed to pay them triple their wage. Pate also agreed to allow the Nemezhat to eat the Zolt and add it to its own mass. Such a conjunction would make Pate and Kelso co-captains, while Bethany and Trevor would be co-first-mates. In order to cheer up Trevor, Erithien Darkmoon gives him the Flamekin of Fire and invites him to be the God of Fire for the New Gods. Trevor accepts the rank of godhood.

Meanwhile, Duer Graysong gets a mental message from Il'karin, a self-proclaimed Mage Hunter. He dares Duer Graysong to enter the underdarks of the Spider Lands to meet with him and trade for the location Acerak's phylactery.

In preparation for the trip, Babaduke "Gembo" Gemkind went to recruit Billy only to find his friend desiring to help his damaged, scattered brother and sister golems. With Babaduke "Gembo" Gemkind's blessing, Bill takes his leave of the group.

Before Torvox and Greetlund Steelsnatcher will take the Knights of the Golden Order into the underdark, they insist that everyone become oriented with common survival knowledge of travel in this dangerous place. He outlines the need for a map maker, danger watch, track water, white noise maker, and prayer keeper. Each of the group takes on a responsibility. Feye Lyne took danger watcher. I mention this because it's relevant later.

Also, Babaduke "Gembo" Gemkind becomes upset how he treated his friends while under the evil curse and makes restitution by giving away some of his gems, including A valuable 800gp garnet to Billy and a 600gp amethyst to Trevor.

Erithien Darkmoon takes the Cast Iron Rifle of Destruction from Therien Darkmoon to become the God of Destruction. Duer Graysong tries to persuade Old Jass into releasing the Crystal Ball of Magic to him, granting him godhood over magic. Duer Graysong wasn't having a persuasive day and Old Jass declined until he had time to see if Duer Graysong will succumb to the temptation of human wizards.

Despite the extra precautions, the group is ambushed in the underdark, a trap which Feye Lyne didn't spot. The opponent is none other than Mage Hunter Il'karin's simulacrum and some slave labour from the underdarks. During the fight Greetlund Steelsnatcher was slain. Il'karin's minions tries to steal Greetlund's soul but was thwarted. The group is making preparations to resurrect their dead ally.

Il'karin mind messages Duer Graysong again, sharing his admiration for Duer Graysong's skills.
