Alomri

Oh yeah, we Alomri have had a rough go of things. Made to be servants for pompous Fey that we rebelled against. Then when one prank might've gone too far, they throw us out. Thankfully, we land in Avestra with our Lunari buddies and try to make everything work again. Start trying to plan on getting good ol' Moira back. Then in come the Elders or whatever they call themselves. We start making trouble for them... and they warp our minds and make us do the same thing to everyone else. Now we got a few lost ones out there still causing trouble. Hopefully, we can fix them up before we free Moira. Cause it's gonna take every Alomri to get our rebel back.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Alomri have an appearance similar to Lunari with an anthropomorphic version of foxes. Unlike Lunari, their fangs and claws are not tempered enough to deal as much damage as the Lunari or the Carinthi. They are digitigrade just like the Lunari but often have a smaller stature as well. They are often around 4 and a half feet tall.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Alomri often have one or two syllables to them, the name relative to whatever culture they are part of. They have the surname of their family and a first name given at birth. By the end of their adolescence, they are given an honorific or some form of title to signify their greatest quality.

History

In the beginning of their history, the Archfey created the foxfolk as a servant race. They were meant to serve at any task their masters put them to, influencing their natural charisma, dexterity, and strength. However, that also made them expendable to many Fey who saw them as tools. While there were those who cared for their servants, tales of mistreatment were more common than not. It was this treatment that spawned the defiant nature of the Alomri, under the first Alomri rebel, Moira the Courageous.

Her schemes inspired many to follow her and even influenced the Elves and Lunari to take a second look at how they were all treated by the Fey. This spiraled into the Great Fey War on the surface. The Alomri were avid instigators, causing disruption behind enemy lines. While no one ever treated it like a war, many Alomri were motivated to win it. They mocked the rival Fey and rubbed their nose in every victory. However, their countless victories got to their head. A group of Alomri working with Lunari and Elf alike had a plan. Whatever it was, it blew open a scar in Faenum so deep that it began to spill over to the dark side of the realm, causing a constant "taint" that has to be contained.

That was the last straw for many of the Archfey and they elected to throw the Alomri out of the realm. With the cosmic barrier up, the assumption was that this would lead to certain death for the foxfolk. It was forced the Lunari to step in and defend them, causing the Archfey to cast them out as well. However, it seemed like the barrier opened when they were thrown out and the Alomri and Lunari landed safely in Avestra but separated from each other.

Moira the Courageous wasn't with her people, however, as several spiteful Archfey trapped her within their realm. When the Elder invasion came, they released her only to deal with the Aberrants before chaining and imprisoning her once again. The Alomri, accepted in the new world they're in, wish to free their hero if they can since Faenum aging is vastly different from Avestra aging.

They at first planned to hatch a scheme to free her during their exile in Avestra. And then the Elders and the Aberrations came. Any area that they conquered, the Alomri were quick to raise resistance and revolts in the area. Or at least they tried. It was hard to fight back against creatures that could enslave the minds of weaker creatures. Some Alomri fell to that same fate and began traveling to other lands, causing revolts and rebellions in the name of the Elders.

The return of the Eternals quickly stopped any schemes of these corrupted Alomri and most of them were freed of mind control. However, some are still scattered across the realm, their minds enslaved to the creatures from beyond. Now the Alomri have two goals: to free their brethren and to free their hero still trapped.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

The Alomri and Lunari are fast friends as the former never forgot how the wolf folk stood up for them against the Archfey. They often provide respite and supplies to wandering Lunari and treat them with kindness others don't usually give. These two races are thick as thieves... or as thick as a thief and a paladin can be if some of the stories are to be believed.
