Basic Information
Anatomy
Satyr appear to be humanoids with their lower body similar to a goat's legs with even a fluffy tail in the back, with their feet replaced by hooves instead. Additionally, a pair of horns grows on the top of their heads, allowing them to ram into people with these horns for some damage. Their legs are stronger as well, allowing them to jump farther than other fey born races do besides the Harengon.
Civilization and Culture
Major Organizations
- The Elu Kingdoms: Since the Elves and other Fey species reside in the Lake Elu region, that is where the Satyr like to make their home as well. They are a welcome edition, even aiding young or elder elves who become melancholic with their memories of their past lives. At the same time, they also serve to be a counterbalance to serious groups like the Lunari, often pushing them to live a little alongside the Harengon.
History
Satyr are often seen as the party animals no matter where they are. On Faenum, that was the role they served when they lived amongst the fey. When Archfey wanted to have parties with plenty of debauchery, they would often look to the Satyr for that. Elves with more hedonistic past lives often recall these parties in vivid detail during their first 100 years of life, often feeding into their current lives. Even as there were troubles on Faenum, the Satyr wouldn't let that trouble them or ruin their mood as they kept celebrating their existence.
Even as their Fey siblings were cast out or fled, they followed to Avestra, bringing their favorite activities with them. Across Avestra, people of all cultures can tell stories of when their people met the Satyrs for the first time. It often ends with nursing hangovers or parties that level entire blocks but most people just shrug and rebuild what they can with the aid of the party animals.
However, they do know when to take things seriously as they fought alongside Mortals and Fey alike when the Elders came. Their magic resistance made them able to shrug off any domination effects, making them compliment operatives in operations against Aberrations. Nowadays, there are Satyrs either in groups or by themselves across Avestra, hoping to spread merriment wherever they can. And if there happens to be evil in the area, whether it be Elder related or not, they're not afraid to talk them down or break a bear bottle and solve the problem with good old-fashioned violence.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Satyr are like those little brothers that always get themselves into trouble. At least that's what the Lunari see them as when they have to clean up their messes. However, most Lunari are welcoming to the Satyr as they bring some amusement and brevity in bleak moments for them. And Satyr are always happen to break the serious exterior of their wolf kin.
Harengon and Satyr often get up to mischief together, whether it's on Avestra or in Faenum. Whenever people spot one of them, it's not a surprise when the other is not far behind. Some Satyr have taken to traveling with their rabbit kin to spread their jubilant lifestyle to the other realms. Alomri and Satyr have a similar relationship with the latter even serving as spies in the courts of Archfey to aid the Alomri.
Satyr view Elves and Owlin as people who can be fun when they're not a stick in the mud. While the former welcomes their actions, Owlin are often found complaining about the actions their Satyr cousins take. Though, there's always that bit of a smile beneath an Owlin's frustrated tone, showing that they know Satyrs mean well.
