Ayumu is a supporting character in Deicide. He appears as a half-Varisian, half-Ir human born under Irev's season and heavily Conflicted. He serves as an imperial apothecary and influences the politics of Akagawa from the shadows.

Mysterious, aloof, secretly empathetic.
Trickster, sarcastic, mouthy, cynical, indifferent, arrogant, callous, lazy.
He needs to end an ancient evil to protect the world and finish what is undone.
He wants to find a group of heroes who is capable of doing what the Divine Beasts could not.
Many people in Akagawa despise him, as he is Conflicted with Irreverence, but he is far more concerned with dispelling the nature of Confliction.
He serves in the Blades of Tranquility and also has deep court connections.
He uses a bladed staff and lightning magic in battle.
They say his presence is only tolerated in the palace because he knows things that could endanger the positions of nearly every influential court official.
Secretly, he is [spoilered] and possessing the body of Taiys Ir'tek's twin brother. Also, he has extensive (if outdated) apothecary knowledge and is capable of restorative magics that have not otherwise been documented.
He bears a dragon tattoo not unlike Hibiki's.

Notes

Him and Arakaki Katsuo are infamous rivals among the Blades, despite it being completely one-sided (Katsuo cares, he does not). He seems to find amusement in surprising Aikawa Kaoru and interrupting his assassination plans to discuss poisons. In Japanese, 歩夢 (ayumu) means walk; dream; vision. His tarot card, Death, symbolizes end of cycle; beginnings; change; metamorphosis and, if reversed, fear of change; holding on; stagnation; decay. His favorite flower, habenaria radiata, means my thoughts follow you into dreams.
