House Obsidian

In the year 532 BCY, the Obsidian family was founded by a group of skilled blacksmiths and artisans who had discovered a rich vein of obsidian in the mountains near their city. They built great forges and workshops, and soon the city of Eldergate became renowned for its expertly crafted weapons and armor.   Over time, the Obsidian family grew in wealth and influence, but they also became known for their political corruption. Some of their citizens used their wealth and power to gain unfair advantages, and the family did little to stop it.   The Obsidian family also had a tenuous relationship with the dwarves of Agem Orshen, who controlled many of the mountain passes and were known for their skill in mining and metalworking. The two groups often competed for control of the region's rich resources, and their relationship was fraught with tension.   In the year 134 CY, the Seventh Seal Guild launched an investigation into Eldergate and uncovered evidence of widespread corruption and injustice. They forced the Obsidian family to relinquish their power, and the bloodline still exists today as wealthy nobility, but they no longer hold any political power.   Despite their fall from grace, the Obsidian family's legacy lives on through their great forges and skilled blacksmiths, who continue to produce some of the finest weapons and armor in the land. The family's tenuous relationship with the dwarves of Agem Orshen has also persisted, with occasional periods of cooperation and conflict as both groups vie for control of the region's resources.

Blackstone Manor

Blackstone Manor, situated in the heart of Eldergate, stands as a testament to the grandeur and resilience of House Obsidian. This imposing residence is crafted from the finest black granite, giving it an austere and formidable presence amidst the city's bustling streets. The manor boasts a series of interconnected courtyards and high-walled gardens, providing a secluded sanctuary for the noble family it houses. Its vast interiors include opulent living quarters, a grand hall for entertaining guests, and a library filled with ancient tomes and records of the house's storied past. The manor is centuries old, and lacks many modern amenities but it's legendary battlements hold stong.   In addition to accommodating the noble family, Blackstone Manor provides living quarters for five loyal servants and two master smiths dedicated to crafting exquisite armors. These smiths operate out of amastercrafted forge located in the manor's southern wing, where the heat of the forges contrasts with the cool, dark stone of the manor's upper floors. The servants tend to the daily needs of the household, maintaining the manor's collapsing condition and supporting the family's various endeavors.
