Jable (jab ยท lah)

Demographics

The natives and majority of Jable are Desert Tieflings, a subrace of Tieflings that resemble genies more than devils. Other races also exist in Jable, as many Zakharans move here to further understand the history of their country and be closer to Chamra.
Jable is known for its historians and archeologists, it also has a large population of alchemists and artificers, as they encourage enhancing nature with magic. They see magic as a necessity, and those that can't wield it are looked down upon.
Jable also has many druids and rangers that focus on the elements, they use the four elements to manipulate and shape their reality.

Government

As a Queendom, Jable has a government that is led by a queen, who holds ultimate authority over the city and its affairs. The queen is responsible for making decisions related to governance, defense, and foreign relations, and would have a council of advisors to assist her in making those decisions.
The current representative of Jable in Khanatba was the Queens eldest daughter, Fana'ar Raeshal , however Fana'ar was elected as Loregiver, and so the Queen sent her husband, "Xarir Raeshal", as the new representative, after the ascension of their daughter.
The Queen has final authority on all matters in Jable, however, there are a few noble houses that also hold seats of power in the city, and the Queen always makes sure to consult the elders of the houses.
The noble houses of Jable are:
  • Raeshal
  • Shawi
  • Lareeq
  • I'xan (Ee-shan)
  • Eyhraq
Jable also has a system of taxes, where traders and shopkeepers are required to pay a percentage of their income from that business to the government. Not much is known on how the taxes fund the city, but it is clear that they are being used wisely, at least outside of the old city.
Jable also imposes an entrance fee to any outsider.

Infrastructure

The druids of Jable have created an intricate system to harness the waters from the rain and from deep caves, the water supply in Jable is abundant despite its distant proximity from any rivers or the ocean. Because of that, Jable has the best bath houses in all of Bellares, anyone can be pampered and scrubbed clean for just a few silver pieces.
The only pitfall of Jable is its horrendous road and path structure, walking through the kingdom can feel like a chore, and only a native can know which turn to take. Other than that, other amenities are all provided, and Jable excels in providing entertainment and a sense of luxury to its inhabitants.
