Þamta is a presidential republic in western Jútrilía and the largest remaining jútrilían elven country in the region, the other one being Erenúm to the east. It's bordered by the Niþvú Sea to the west, Æjala and Jolþ beyond the river Mænas to the north and northeast, respectively, and the desolate region of Amþax to the south.
Þamta's capital is the city of Tamþías at the mouth of the Ehó River to the west.
The country, along with Þagralía in southwestern Jælondis, are all that remains of the cultural region that once spanned much of the coast of Jútrilía and Maralon Steppe in the western and southwestern edge of the continent, much of which was destroyed in the Fell Wars around forty years ago.
When the empire declined, Þamd rebelled and became an independent kingdom which would later on become wealthy as an important link in a trade route from the rest of Jútrilía to the south on one hand, and Þjaris -via the city of Inaþis- to the north, though prior to the Fell Wars it had declined somewhat after the þjaric elves isolated themselves from the rest of the world.
Since the war, Þamta's had a close relationship with Jolþ to the north due to the former aiding the latter with industrializing and opening up to the rest of Borgalor. One of the best examples of this relationship is the Laræn-Taþvún Group, a major corporation founded by the heads of two wealthy families from each country, which is known for its crystal-powered devices of all sorts.
