Ama
Þrínic: Ama Egærk /aːmaː ɛkaiːrkh/
Kröþic: Ama Egæhr /aːmaː ɛkaiːɾ̥/
Öþranic: Ama Egærk /aːmaː ɛːɢaiːɹkh/
Mjúltic: Ama Ehirĥ /aɱa ɛhɪʁx/
Ama was one of the major powers in goblin history, forming the latter part of their classic period (múlærkra) following the reign of the empire of Onþók. For most of its existence, the city of Tæx functioned as the empire's capital.
Ama began as an upstart dynasty in the northern province of Onþók, the conflict of which against the empire's rulers resulted in a decades-long civil war and the loss of most of the goblin territories -all of Hlaportar and Ólrortar to the west and northwest, and parts of Þnoþnórtar and Þrúngortar to the southwest and center- in the western hinterlands beyond the river Úkún and Bexran Lake. While the rulers of Ama managed to unify coastal goblins, their attempts at regaining the region from the native Dwarves and Humans were unsuccessful, with the only remnant of western onþókan culture being the modern country of Brelt.
Overall, the new realm experienced a flourishing of goblin culture in terms of art and architecture, literature, cuisine and technology during most of its existence, in part due to the resulting smaller territory being far easier to administrate. Stone buildings built in the style of older stilt houses -though with more complex roof and often an enclosed lower floor- appeared during this period and became particularly widespread in northern and central Narúrt, as did the use of furs and overall warmer clothing among the aristocracy, usually dyed black and white with red, blue, pink and yellow designs, though southern styles remained more colourful.
The new architectural as well as culinary traditions were influenced by the Narúrtic Dwarves, who formed their own caste in aman society. The use of cereals, mostly local barley or ones imported from Ytvía, became more widespread, both for making fried bread or pastries and to brew ale.
Like many other countries, Ama established several colonies in the Southlands, of which Kröþa proved the most successful. These far-flung communities became independent as conflicts between local aristocratic and merchant families eventually caused it dissolve into different countries in 92 BF, some of which exist to this day.
