Circle of the Silver Owl

The Circle of the Silver Owl is the most prestigious and prominent Guild of Magic in the Duchy of Fremilan. They have been around since the inception of the nation, training adepts to control and channel their powers into productive ways and supporting the Duchy with recruits for the Owl Knights, sorcerers trained for battle. The Guild has several guild halls throughout the nation, providing training, resources and facilities for guild members. The Guild relies on various sources of income, guild dues are a regular fee paid by graduated members to retain membership (and all the benefits provided) Also income is earned from services provided to both members and the regular citizenry. Lastly special contracts are sometimes secured, bringing in coin for those willing to pay for premium Guild service.
Once an Adept has graduated their training, they can be either offered work within a guild hall or provided contract work, otherwise they are free to seek employment of their own. As long as their guild dues are paid, they are free to advertise their affiliation with the guild and access any guild services at a guild hall.

Structure

The Arch-Mage sets the overall agenda for the guild, however the Upper Circle (consisting of the Guild Hall Masters and each Specialist Head) form an advisory board to discuss research and other projects. Each Guild Hall operates on the Guild Dues paid by each member and for services provided to the public.
