Alena island
Located in the middle of lake Osen, the island of Alena is a small, largely forested island on which lied the town of Alena.
Geography
The island is small and situated near the centre of lake Osen, in southern Arros. It's topography is varied, with mostly flat terrain in the middle and northern portions, and hills near the southern end. Sand beaches occupy its northern edge, while cliffs form its southern edge. The city of Alena is located on the southern tip of the island, perched on its cliffs. Most of the island is covered in forests, composed of the same trees that once covered most of the Roynian plain to its west before they were cut down for farmland. In fact, it may be one of the last spots of primordial forests anywere near the roynian plains that is still standing today.
Climate
While it is situated in the middle of some of the hottest region on the Arrosian continent, the temperature on the island is influenced by the lake surounding it. Because of this, it experiences a micro-climate were the temperature is always cooler than its surrounding, and less chilly in winter, as the water retains some of its summer heat.
Natural Resources
The island doesn't have much in terms of natural resources. Trees could be cut and sold to the timber hungry cities along the Royn, but the inhabitants of the island understand that what they have is unique and thus refuse to do so. The lake around the island contains many different kinds of fish, which has become the town's main source of food.
History
For most of history, the island was always visited by humans, but its wasn't until about a thousand years ago that the island became inhabited after a group of people who had been expulsed from the city of Olpalis to the south. They established a small village on the southern tip of the island, which slowly grew into a town before The Fall.
During the fall, the city became an important rally point as the town was highly defensible from the hordes of Blight Spawns, as they have a severe aversion to water. It was the site of an important battle, where many tidemages faced off blight spawns and won. It has since become a sort of pilgrimage site for Tidemage.
After the fall, and up to this day, the city and the island it sits on, has returned to its usual quiet self. A small airport was built just outside of the town to accomodate the Winged ships that brings the numerous tourists who visit the island.

Tourism
Tourists come here usualy from the large cities along the royn, and most describe the area as very unique among the monotone flat farmland that stretch along both shores of the river. Many Tidemage travel from these cities to this spot as it has become since the events of The Fall, an unnoficial gathering spot for them.
The Tidemage and the Blight Spawn captured my attention. I wouldn't mind having more details on the island itself.
