Plane of Smoke
The Plane of Smoke is one of the youngest and most refined of all planes, having been created by descendants of the Gods of the Fore later in the Age of Heart. It encompasses the domains of fire, earth, and air. The Plane of Smoke is a Dominus Conjunction, which are much more habitable and traveled than the Cardinal Planes or the Ordinal Conjunctions.
This plane has an incredibly varied and diverse geography, ranging from darkened rainforests to smoky plains towered over by ice-capped mountains. At the colloquial center of the realm lies the Gornathad, a massive dormant volcano that spews smoke miles into the air, covering nearly half of the plane in smog. Unlike the Plane of Dust, however, this is a strangely non-toxic fume. The local belief is that Synedda herself blessed the mountain and its fires to never harm her children.
The Plane of Smoke is presided over by several great city-states that work in tune with each other to enforce their boundaries and laws. These are the twin cities of Dark Sisters, the sprawling jungle domain of Rekvarata, and the mountain enclave of Solemn. These superpowers are historically neutral, and their intervention in any conflict would be a feared one. It is rumored that an old black Greatwyrm sleeps beneath Solemn, kept fat and happy until the time comes when it is called upon to fight for the hand that feeds.
