Harduin is the best and most renowned fighter in the former Kingdom of Reese and heir to its throne. From youth, he has trained dutifully as a knight and became great friends with Kastor Erkenbert, who was one his squire.
During the siege of Castle Hadrian, Harduin fought valiantly until the death of his father. He was tricked into abandoning the battle by his own mother, who surrendered his crown to Marlekyle of Valka.
At first, Harduin resented the conqueror. Yet during the years of his service, he accepted Marlekyle's teachings and became loyal to the Solar Exalted. His feels grateful of the honor Marlekyle has given to his family and most of all the love Marlekyle gives to Harduin's younger brother. Later, Harduin persuaded his own lover Lief Lindeman to join Marlekyle as well.
In RY 830, Harduin left his post as Royal Knight of Arfalea to chase after his wayward lover Lief, where in a confrontation, he was strangled to death by Lief. Full of bitterness and heartbroken, Harduin's ghost was ferried to the court of the Deathlord Walker In Darkness, where he met Broken Mask of Forsaken Truth. Asking for the Deathknight's help for revenge, Harduin has sworn his own soul to Lord Mask.
