Old Mines
In the early days iron ore was mined here. Deposits are long exhausted, so now its mostly just warehouses. In the 2040s one of open pit mines was designated as a gambling area, so now (unless you are delivery worker) Old Mines is name for a conveniently close seedy place.
After blowing their money in a club somewhere in Market, a typical middle manager will decide to kick the night into high gear, hail a cab and make the journey through Workshop, along aptly named Trash Road (it's actually Alexander Street now, but old name is stubborn), over the railway lines and descent into the Old Mines gambling district. It's like Market, but spicier - clubs, showgirls, brothels, casinos, BD parlors of many varieties. You can get in trouble here if you do something dumb, but it's pretty safe - businesses are mostly established and legitimate, and people are after just your money anyway - not your life or identity. And they rather see you again tomorrow night.
