Minauros, The Third Level of Hell

Minauros is ruled by the The Lord of Avarice, Mammon Archdevil of Greed. The level resembles stretch of fettered and rotting swamp land that reflects the miser like attitude of its lord. Unwilling to trade even a single soul or lose one to untrustworthy fiends Minauros is one of few places in the upper 5 (levels 1-5 of hell) were visitors are more likely to die from the environment then any hostile creatures. Many of the fettered pools are poisonous and acidic to the touch, eating away and killing most that encounter them. but even then for those that reach the only "safe haven" the greed of those that call this level home is unending. Mammon is more willing to trade in gold and material wealth before loosing a soul and the Sinking City were he lives is a prime reflection of this, as the price of even a single slice of rotten bread or molded cheese may cost a platinum.
