Evertree

The Evertree is the only World Tree on the Arrow Isle, and; along with the one cared for by the Chaldain, one of two left in Kasetia.

The Evertree is often considered the location of Silvanus' rebirth, after his death at the hands of Talos.

Purpose / Function

The Evertree was originally a treant that sacrificed itself to allow Silvanus to regrow inside, after he was slain by Talos during the Mortalbound Period. It was an artificially made World Tree, being the only 'man-made' one among the Sister Continents.

Alterations

Since Silvanus was reborn, the tree was carved to depict the visage of the Forest Father. Few other changes were made to the vicinity around the tree, though many of the trees surrounding the Evertree have druidic markings to guide those who know the language.

History

The Evertree was created during the Mortalbound Period, after Silvanus died in a battle with the Stormlord Talos on the Arrow Isle. The Emerald Conclave, with the assistance of both Silvanus' daughters Mielikki and Eldath, Silvanus' divine spark was not absorbed amidst the wrath brought to the Isle by Talos.

His spark was instead absorbed by a treant and kept safe in Iruladoon so the Forest Father could be rebirthed. After a slumber of 100 years, he emerged re-invigorated and restored to his former divine self. The corpse of the treant was sent back to the Arrow Isle by Silvanus and made into a World Tree, acting as a boon to the island and thanks from the Treefather for the dedication of his clergy.

The Evertree remains there ever since, somewhere on the Arrow Isle, known only to those who must find it.

Tourism

The Evertree is a common pilgrimage location for nature-clerics and druids who find faith in the old gods such as Silvanus. For most nature-clerics, journeying to the Evertree is a prerequisite for acceptance into the higher ranks of the more organised groups focused on nature such as the Chaldain and Emerald Conclave.
