Lesh

"People say he was beholden to no one, but not so. He served Evendur, and he did so with such pure joy he often floated away on the breeze. He was freer than anyone had been... or has been since."
Elder Mellequen of Thirio

Lesh is god of the air and freedom. He was always peaceful and quiet, placing great stress on the importance of listening before speaking. He listened to the wind as no one ever had before, and as a reward the wind bore him up. He could command it to carry him anywhere and it would obey. It is said that Lesh built a kingdom on the clouds that still remains aloft even today, and that he had a companion, a ki-rin called Elessri, who would allow him to ride upon his back. When he did descend to the ground, he worked hard to free the enslaved and oppressed, for he stood for freedom above all else. He founded a few nomadic tribes and taught them to live well, asserting that true freedom could only be found in goodness and self-control. He is depicted as a young man with fair skin, long white hair, and a simple white tunic, frequently with Elessri at his side, and is shown as both an elf and a human.

Relationships

Lesh always got along with his parents and siblings and was close friends with Rakodah, though their paths did not cross often. He also worked alongside Brell on multiple occasions. In general he was a very easygoing Meydra, but given the nature of his dealings, he made some enemies, and in particular he frustrated the work of Kan Zul, who called upon the help of his sister Lesta-Yen and a powerful sorcerer follower of his called Japhet. Working together, they imprisoned Lesh and Elessri separately deep within the earth. They remained there for a number of years before his siblings, Dagmar, Alaya, and Kishike, broke Lesh out, although they found Elessri gone. Clerics celebrate the feast of the Liberation of Lesh on May the 24th every year, and place a heavy focus during this celebration on commemoration of Elessri and his service to Lesh.   Lesh fathered the famous Simra Mennick. The identity of Mennick's mother is unconfirmed, but she is widely believed to have been a peasant woman, and is usually referred to as Natala.

Followers

Lesh stresses freedom above all else. His clerics work hard to ensure that the local laws where their temples exist are just and do not infringe on the inherent rights of their citizens. Itinerant clerics, of whom there are many in Lesh's order, do much the same thing on a more sprawling scale. Clerics of Lesh and of Marosk generally have great respect for each other, seeing one another's work as two sides of the same coin. Leshite clerics wear lightweight grey and white tunics or capes and bear the symbol of Lesh on a chain around their necks, a set of feathery wings.

Aspects

Nuvah: Nuvah is the god of spring. In this aspect, Lesh is depicted with shackles around his wrists in the midst of bursting to pieces. The depiction is meant to capture his first moment of freedom after being rescued by his siblings. Therefore he is never shown with Elessri in this aspect.
