Emberstone
Emberstone is a small town on the Beltway in Khurabil that sits between Rivervale and Battervold. It marks the easternmost point of the Westmarch Electorate.
The town derives its name from a series of large, ember-coloured arches that stand majestically in its centre. The arches show signs of significant age, and some of them have crumbled enough that they don't reach the apex where they all meet over the central corssroads of the town. Each arch shows signs of extensive adornment, much faded over the ages.
At the heart of Emberstone, The Phoenix's Hearth Tavern stands as a welcoming refuge for travellers and townsfolk alike. The tavern is owned and run by the Dwarf Thrain Forgebeard and Human bard Jocelyn Forgebeard, and offers a warm and convivial atmosphere where patrons can relax, enjoy hearty meals, and partake in lively conversations. The tavern's menu features a variety of dishes including some dwarven specialties, as well as the output of the attached brewery including the renowned Phoenix Fire Ale.
Known for her fiery performances and captivating tales, Jocelyn brings life and energy to the tavern, but is happy to encourage other bards to perform so she can see what they have to offer and keep the performances in the tavern fresh. The tavern's decor features paintings and tapestries of phoenixes, symbolizing renewal and rebirth, and creating a sense of warmth and optimism.
