History

Relationships

Eius tries to remain neutral amongst the deities, preferring to mediate disputes rather than cause them. That being said, he does openly oppose Zolena and Surtr as their destructive nature and antithetical to accumulating knowledge. Because of this, he openly allies himself with Ymir, Uranus, Mylara, and Nieyr who fight Zolena and Surtr to preserve both existence as a whole and to preserve knowledge.

Appearance

Eius takes on much of the appearance he had in life. He typically appears as an Atlantean man with brown-haired, indigo eyes, and pale skin. He usually wears a medium green great coat, olive trousers, brown leather gloves and boots, and a feathered hat.

Church of Eius

Eius is one of the most widespread and accepted faiths on Elysiar, as he is the patron of scholars, sages, and learned persons. Institutions of learning, both magical and mundane, the world over host scores of his followers. That being said, many arcane scholars tend to favor Mylara or Nieyr as a patron over Eius, but they keep him in their prayers.

Clergy

Eius’ clergy hosts a variety of worshippers, though bards, clerics, and monks are the most prevalent. Eius’ clerics and monks tend to stay around larger settlements, tending to large libraries, while bards travel the land searching for lost knowledge and spread the words of Eius. Though, that is not to say that the clerics and monks will not leave their cloistered libraries, on the contrary, many of the most renowned and prolific archaeologists and cartographers are monks and clerics of Eius.

Temples and Shrines

Eius’ temples and monasteries tend to be large structures, though the actual halls of worship are rather small. Instead, most of the space is dedicated to a large and expansive library containing copies of most every book known to man. However, despite the commonality of Eius’ worship, the temples themselves are few as creating large libraries by hand is exhaustive work that must be done by countless scribes over many, many years. Thus, Eius’ temples try to integrate themselves into institutions of learning whenever they can, so that they may ensure that the institution has a proper library to facilitate learning.
