In Ereb Altor there are many species of Orcs spread throuhout the world. The Kraukh orc is the dominant and most common of them, and what most civilised species consider an orc.

Basic Information
Anatomy
the Krauk orc species share the same physiology as humans, but are generally more robust built than humans. The explanation for this phenomenon stems from the fact that Orcs are way stronger than humans, and have a stronger bone structure. Orcs arms are also a bit longer than humans, makin them more apelike. Some Krauks almost drag their knuckles in the ground while walking, but is far from common.
Growth Rate & Stages
Orc pass through the same stages as almost all biological species. Child, youth, mature and old, but they pass throught them way faster than humans do. Orcs are considered youth at the age of 12 and adult when they reach 17 years old. They are to be considered old ats they pass 35 years old.
Ecology and Habitats
Orcs make their homes or lives in almost all places. They can be found in the far north to the deserts. But the most succesful settlements are to be found in dense forests and mountain ranges where they can defend themselves better from their many enemies.

Orcs can and will eat almost anything, but they prefer meat.

Social Structure
Krauk orcs are social creatures whose normal social structure is the group. They always travel in groups, and the group stick together. They sleep together, they eat together and usually they die or flee together. This strong group binding do not reach the level where they would try to save a captured individual or get to an injured group member. But in a normal situation they would defend a group member from being bullied by another group.
The group have a tendency to mingle with other groups until they make up a tribe, which often have strained relationships with other tribes. those tribes share some similarities with each other and make up a clan. Those similarities are usually being bullied by someone stronger than themselves and common enemies.

Average Intelligence
As Orcs seldom have the patience and need to solve complex problems they are often more stupid than humans. But there are individuals that are as smart as humans, and even some who are very intelligent.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Orcs generally have worse eyesight in daylight than humans, but in the dark they have almost perfect vision. Their hearing and smell is on the same level as humans.

Orcs in general consider the femals good only for breeding.

The orc society is based on strength and brute force, and as such only the strong get to mate.
Average Technological Level
Most orc tribes have a few members who can melt down steel and reforge it into new weapons. They lack the patience to make a chainmail, but can repair and refit other chainmails. More powerful tribes have slaves who have the knowledge to forge real weapons.

Krauk orcs are usually between 180 to 200 cm tall, but their hunched stance makes them look smaller.

Most orcs weight in around 130 to 150 kg.
Average Physique
Orcs live violent lives and spend much of their time fighting. As such they are often well trained and have a high endurance. Their sensation of pain is lower than humans as their skin is thicker.
