I find it's very easy for me to draw upon the works of published authors far too much when I deliberately draw from their works. However, the overall tone I hope to strike is similar to the dark-but-hopeful tone common to many of Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere books. I'm also quite familiar with the works of Tolkien and Robert Jordan, among many other great names of the fantasy genre.   Some of my worldbuilding will be inspired by questlines presented in various D&D adventure books and similar resources produced by the broader D&D community. As this will be my first campaign as a gamemaster, I will be relying on those with more experience to guide my storytelling to make for more enjoyable gameplay.
