Super Mutant

Super Mutants are mutated humans, and the remnants of FEV experiments. FEV, or Forced Evolutionary Virus, was a Pre-War experiment to make super soldiers. The result was a loss of intelligence, sickly green skin, and large stature. These beings are difficult to kill, and very prone to aggression. Additionally, it appears to scientists, and those who live in the mutant hub of Jacobstown, that Super Mutants do not age. As a result, almost all of them are over 150 years old. 
A minority within these mutants are the Nightkin, grey or blue skinned mutants who are prone to schizophrenia, due to mental issues and prolonged use of stealthboys.
All of these mutants were a part of Unity, a mutant army bent on conversion of all humans into mutants, to bring about an end to conflict. This movement was ended in 2154, by a vault dweller and the founders of the New California Republic. Since then these mutants wandered aimlessly until roughly 2275, when Jacobstown was founded in the Mojave Wasteland, which has become the hub of these people, who live alongside humans and Ghoul. 
These mutants stand around 8 feet tall, and usually weigh 400 pounds.
