Welcome to Fearann Ùr

The Year is 3E 287. The explored regions of Fearann Ùr, often referred to as the Continent by most, is currently experiencing a state of peace but is far from prosperity. The Continent is divided into eight major regions that share trade, diplomacy and knowledge; apart from the Underways, who keep to themselves and often refuse contact with the other seven regions. Each region has their own unique religion, culture, political views and even technology. The Athame Mountains are vastly more technologically advanced than the Reizi Plains, who stretch along the western side of the mountains. Despite peace being relatively accepted across the continent, many of the regions struggle with their own internal affairs.

The verdant rolling hills of Vertiste is recovering from a recent Civil War; the island of Nishima edges closer towards political disarray with the death of their leader; the hot desert of Oltistan is rife with famine and starvation; the frozen tundra of Snorjoro is rife with raiders that each believe they hold claim to rule the island; the Athame Mountains handled crazed beasts fueled by magical rage; the Viper's Coast deal with an increase of sea monsters attacking their sailors; the Scorched Lands remain dormant with mere memories of what once existed there; and the dark depths of the Underways carry messages of intrigue and espionage, though the rumours go unheeded upon the surface.

The Theme of Fearann Ùr

  Slice of Life

A major theme of Fantasy Worlds always include a chosen one or mcguffin. Fearann Ùr focuses on a more grounded world. Each region is designed to feel distinct, and although gods and magic exist, there are no chosen messiahs or god-like artifacts. Meaning death can be around the corner for any character...

  The Titans

A form of god within Fearann Ùr, the Titans are long-dead creatures that still have an influence over the regions they once ruled. People born under a certain Titan will feel a change in their personality or motives. Those who appease the Titans may also recieve a Titan's Favour, which can aid someone in their time of need.

  Exploration

Rather than presenting all the information, Fearann Ùr aims to create intrigue and leave enough gaps to allow imagination to run wild. Locations like the Deep are just as mysterious to the characters as they are to the reader.
