Mermaids

Mermaids are a species of near-humans mutilated by the goddess of the Moon in her jealous rage against her brother the god of the Sun and his lover the goddess of Love. An all-female species, mermaids take the form of beautiful maidens from the waist up with powerful fishes' tails below.   They are voluptuous and alluring, but - like many of the near-humans corrupted by the goddess of the Moon - their sexuality and relationship with men is corrupted and ruined. In the case of mermaids, their physical desire for union with a man is as powerful as a human woman's, but their species has no males and because of their physical structure they are incapable of union with any male. Frustrated and consumed with hatred for the masculine and all that breathe air, they use their feminine wiles to seduce men - usually sailors, but also fishermen or anyone near the sea. Once in their ocean, the men are at a physical disadvantage and the mermaids torment and drown them. If a man is captured at the spawning time, he will suffer the monstrous indignity of being forced to spill seed to externally fertilize the mermaid's eggs only to be killed just like the others.   Mermaids were mutilated by the goddess of the Moon as a gift to the god of the Oceans - but they are so cruel in their hatred of the male they bring him no joy.
