Armours
- Light Armour: Cloth, padded or quilted soft armours such as gambesons, soft leathers, etc. Grants no bonuses to Defence or Soak but may provide other benefits.
- Medium Armour: Hard leather or composite armours eg splintmail. Provides +1 Soak.
- Heavy Armour: Metal armours other than full plate. Scale, chain, coat-of-plates, etc. Provides +2 Soak.
- Half-Plate: Elements of plate armour strapped over other armour types, such as King Tyon I Cray's iconic brigandine. Provides +f to Defence checks, can be worn over other armours to gain Soak.
- Full-Plate: A full suit of plate armour, custom made for the wearer, often with integral or articulated limb protection. Provides +3 Soak and +f to Defence checks.
Shields
- Small Wooden Shield: A buckler or other small, light shield. Provides +b to Defence checks.
- Large Wooden Shield: A larger wooden shield. Provides +d to Defence checks.
- Heavy Steel Shield: A large steel shield, such as a kite or heater. Provides +f to Defence checks.
- Tower Shield: A very large, cumbersome shield. Adds +b to all the user's checks except Melee Attacks. Provides +ff to Defence checks against Ranged Attacks or against Melee Attacks if flanked by allies, provides +f to any other Defence checks.
