Accurate-1:
- This weapon adds b to any Ranged Attacks made using this weapon.
Pierce-2:
- This weapon ignores up to 2 points of Soak.
Reload-2:
- Before each attack with this weapon it must perform the Reload action 2 times.
Ranged:
- Ranged weapons do not increase their Damage for additional s from Attack rolls. Instead treat each ss as a.
- Ranged weapons have two Range values. Attacks made within the first range bracket are made as normal. Attacks made within the second range bracket add one b for each additional range band in addition to normal effects and the cost to trigger traits or critical hits increases by 1 for each range band. Attacks cannot be made beyond the second range bracket.
When equipped by a Military Unit a heavy crossbow is one of many kinds of Bow, it enables the unit to make Ranged Attacks.
Potential Improvements
A crossbow can have multiple different Ammunition upgrades, but must choose which one to apply to each attack. When purchasing Ammunition upgrades for a bow, you must specify if they are for fighting or hunting, the upgrades must be purchased seperately for each.
- Bodkin (Ammunition): Bodkin arrowheads are designed to punch through plate armour. A bow firing Bodkins gains the Pierce-2 quality.
- Barbed Arrowheads (Ammuntion): Barbed arrowheads are designed to cause as much damage as possible. Their use is considered to be unchivalrous by most. A bow firing Barbed Arrowheads gains the Vicious-2 quality. In addition, increase the difficulty to treat any injury cause by a Barbed Arrowhead by c
- Flammable Head (Ammunition): Whether a cage to hold cotton, or material wrapped around the head, some arrows can be adapted to deliver fire to the enemy. A bow firing Flammable ammuntion decreases its Damage and increases its Crit threshold by 1 each. It gains the Ignite-3 quality. At the DM's discretion this may ignite flammable objects.
- Windlass: Sometimes as simple as a lever and a claw, or as complex as a hand cranked winch, a windlass speeds up the reloading process of a crossbow. A Crossbow with a Windlass reduces its Reload quality by 1.
