Greyridge

This trading settlement was formed after The Dark War as a trade-point between the elven cities of Mornelon and Mythbelle and the rest of Greyacre. A tunnel through the mountains was created by the dwarves, but lately the elves have been refusing visitors again without any good reason. The tunnel opening is the mouth of a huge carving of Kragg Ironvein in the side of a mountain.   Greyridge is the only town in Greyacre that abides by Kragg's Law, which essentially means that whatever you do on your property, stays on your property. Within reason. Death and murder can be common, but with this general understanding and agreement not to abuse it, the place can be more lawful than many other settlements.

Demographics

Mostly dwarves and elves, with many travellers of mixed races

Infrastructure

Market

Greyridge's trade economy is entirely propped up by the large market place here, where many traders have permanent stores that have occupied the space for years, while others have small pop-ups. Many traders sell bits of everything, rather than sticking to a certain type of product. It's fairly obvious where most traders source their goods: of elven descent, dwarven craft, or buying from each other and other travellers.   The entire bazaar is outdoors, but enchanted with permanent elven magic, projecting warmth onto the market, which is in direct contrast to the cold environment.

The Low Flying Dragon Armourers

The shop is a two-storey half-timbered building, with several stained glass windows and a smooth stone floor. It is brightly lit by magical candles and chandeliers. The shopkeeper is a heavyset male human named Wine.

Inns

Greyridge is used to receiving visitors and therefore has a number of inns to choose from. Usually fairly busy, each one has a unique offering.
The Old Shrew
The inn is a large building of half-timbered walls, with a large cellar. Accommodations consist of several large rooms with beds and feather mattresses. The innkeeper is a young female halfling named Wene Courte. She knows the legend of Enryn's Wands.
The Copper Cup
The inn is a single storey stone-walled building, with a large cellar. Accomodations consist of a single large room with wooden cots and several hammocks in the common room. The innkeeper is a young female dwarf named Thainarv. She has an animal companion, a brown bear named Thrinan.
The Hooded Unicorn
The inn is a two-storey timber and brick building, with elf-wrought tables and chairs. Accomodations consist of several large rooms with beds and feather mattresses. A large private bathhouse is available to guests. The innkeeper is a stout female elf named Macha. She seems to know something about every castle within fifty leagues.
