Manafonts

Manafonts are natural springs of The Energy of Mana that dot the entire world. These fonts contain powerful reserves of Mana. Mana that has never or rarely been utilized, oriented, or conducted. The Mana of these fonts is, to a degree, impressionable. Mages typically use them for the crafting of Mana Reserves. But if an incident occurs that evokes powerful emotion. Murder, War, Tragedy, Romance, those sorts of things. The Manafont will cause something to happen. Sometimes these things are a haunting. But often times, its an Unconscious Curse. A curse laid upon a land or a person without the conscious intention of the one who invoked the curse.
The Magic possible with a Manafont is not yet sufficiently understood. But for the present, it is perceived to hold endless potential. A Mage who draws from a Manafont would immediately be capable of the Highest Degree of Magics. But would in fact, drain the Manafont of its store of Mana.

Purpose / Function

These Fonts of Mana are the creation of the Yurion. The Maker of the Dwarves and one of the Five Primordial Makers, or Oraedar. He is responsible for the creation of The Energy of Mana. And created these springs to serve as fuel for the world itself. As well as fuel for any other endeavor.

Architecture

The Sun Elves built well structures around them to glorify the power they give. Night Elves built their Halls of Contemplation over them. While others have simply left them wild and untouched.
The Manafont influences the terrain and flora and fauna of its surroundings. Impossible rock formations form around over or near them. Herbs and Plants have an unnatural longevity in their vicinity.
