Ondessa
Ondessa was once like any other of the Great Cities, but times have changed, with the disappaernces of it's Households during the The Harrow Storm , it's people were left for dead to the ravages of the undead, had it not been for the Cult of The Mortician all would surely have perished. Since then the city had been ruled by the Cult of The Mortician who had over night won the hearts of many of it's citizens, but a recent alliance between the The Morticians and the Court of Rashim have seen both become much more powerful players on the stage, allowing Rashim to come closer to it's goal of controling all of the Nitea, and allowing the Cult to preach it's message and sell their arms to even more people. With The alliance in place the city is now jointly ruled by the two groups, with a marriage between one of the Radiants own daughters and the grandmaster of the Cult
Government
Though officially the light of The Radiant shines in Ondessa the Cult of The Mortiassian still holds incredibly sway on the populace of the city, after the Cult saved the city during the The Harrow Storm , the city remaining inhabitants have come to see the Cult as heroes, or atleast many of them have, there are still those who say that their arrival was too timely, that their ways are too strange, and the price they asked for, too great..
Defences
The Great walls Ondessa have withstood the test of time since their the cities founding, these 20 feet tall walls were erected by The First Mage Lords of Ondessa each stone enchanted to withstand the most blazing heat and cruel spells. Besides that stand the might of growing Cult of The Mortiassian and the The Radiant Guard send by the The Radiant herself to bring the city into the Courts folds.
Industry & Trade
The Great Guilds of Ondessa are now more, having lost most of their magical capability, the city has since then focused on more mundane wares, such as it's great salt and iron mines, and it's well practiced artisans; sculptures and potters.
Though the city also has a unique opertunity, being among the few cities in which a religious order has taken hold, with city being able to provide some of the best healing Kathlam has to offer, for it's own price ofcourse.
Guilds and Factions
The City may be officialy ruled by The Court, but real power is still held by The Cult, after all it is mainly their men who keep the city safe, their iniates who patrol the streets and their clergy who help the common man. But there are those who yearn to return to the old ways, those who welcome the return of the Mages and guilds, the heralds of The Radiant, while others have lost faith in the mages and the old ways, after all, they did not protect them from The Storm
History
Ondessa was once the City of Conjurers, here they made marvels out of thin air and made the great network Ondessian Standing stones, devices used for instant transportation of wares and people alike. Some even said that they could make reagents out of nothing, sadly such arts was lost with their households and their many magical artifacts aswel.
Architecture
The City has changed over the last 4 years over which the Cult of The Mortician held sway in the city, incorporating many of their own Deathly images, statues of hailing the dead, and murals depicting the final destination of all. Indeed since the Great Storm the city has gained and unnerving fascination with death.
Ondessa's buildings often seem to reach for the sky, for since it's most early days it has been surrounded by a great wall, and space as always been a looming issue, as such most structures are stacked upon one another, even the greates of mage households lived togeter in cramp spaces, and a spartan architecture and lifestyle has often been the norm, but in these days it is not uncommon to see more flowery architecture, mostly depicted Mortiancian or newerr still the the The Radiant
Geography
The City is build around the Fertile Plain of Valatar, here crops and grown around the great lake that sustains life in Ondessa, but outside of it's cities borders lies an unforgiven waste, a a dry plain devoid and life and comfort.
Natural Resources
Ondessa lies close to a great salt, iron and marble deposits which has long provided the cities wealth, and even more so in these dire times.
