Sol Guard

The Sol Guard is among the oldest and most venerable orders of not just the Holy Orders, but the Radiant Guard as a whole. They were tasked with protecting the Radiant Herself and her Palace, as such to merely be a member of the Sol Guard requires veterancy and recommendation of respected Illustrious and Luminous of their orders.
Within the Sol guard, it is custom that a male serves as Illustrious, to ensure that his ambition does not see them act against the radiant’s wishes within their delicate position. Something many a matron has tried to have subverted or to raise a son powerful enough to claim it, for to become Illustrious of the Sol Guard, requires not only savvy personality but also great personal strength, for if he could be manipulated by a matriarch then it would be mute. As such tradition goes that the Illustrious must hide his face, to ensure he cannot be manipulated by others, based on familial ties.
