Maccath
Maccath (a.k.a. The Crimson)
Maccath, also known as Maccath the Crimson, was a tiefling member of the reformed Arcane Brotherhood.
Arauthator normally killed intruders but he saw that Maccath could be useful in two ways: she could explain to the dragon all the lore he looted from the Host Tower, and her company would help his mate Arveiaturace overcome the grief of the loss of her wizard rider. Maccath was so intrigued to learn the dragon's magic secrets that she agreed to be his captive. Eventually she was rescued by a band of adventures who sought her knowledge to help them fight the Cult of the Dragon.
Has been cooped up in the Host Tower for some time now. Once she leaves the tower, she'll make a remark about the King-Killer Star glittering in the sky. Then she sighs and mentions how a dragon destroyed part of the tower over 100 years ago and stole a bunch of valuable magical items. Then she puffs up and says she was able to get a close look at all these stolen things during her captivity there, advancing her career to where it is now.
History
Maccath was a member of the Arcane Brotherhood in Luskan. She was always interested in dragon lore and relics and she traveled to the Host tower of the Arcane to learn about dragon magic. She soon discovered that for advancement in this field, Maccath needed to talk to a real dragon. Remembering the sacking of the Host Tower by the white dragon Arauthator during the Rage of Dragons in the Year of Rogue Dragons, 1373 DR, Maccath decided to seek out Arauthator. Present
Maccath, now readjusted to normal life again back in Luskan is back working with the Arcane brotherhood. Having spent over 3 years as Arauthator's prisoner decoding and translating all the stolen works from the Host Tower, her understanding of the arcane has dramatically increased. Now she has a small group of entry-level Brotherhood underlings at her disposal, and is a great source of information regarding dragons around the Sword Coast."I wanted to Learn more about dragon kind, so I figured I would talk with a dragon. Well, be careful what you wish for."
