2021-05-29: A Game With an Angel and a Fiend
General Summary
The party investigated the Titan's Grave, a massive osteomineral phenomenon to the "south-east" of the pit. After some work, they learned the following.
- The large rib-like protrusions end in very sharp points and are very durable. They could be ribs or teeth.
- There are skeletons of various monsters buried partially under the sand dunes.
- A radobaan, a massive bone-covered monster, was in the area.
- The structure extends about one mile in either direction.
- The plane of Kmuzat is the domain of the stellar divinity Kmuzat. This old demiurge was one of the first created by the Celestial pantheon to help create the prime material. Instead of returning to the Astral plane, Kmuzat created their own world in the deep ethereal to continue their mission of creation.
- Kmuzat's world might be Kmuzat themself.
- Kmuzat occasionally sends a planar fork to the Prime Material plane to allow sentients to travel to Kmuzat and live there.
- Cycles of visitors have arrived, lived, and died in Kmuzat. Generations untold have lived in the time-dilated world.
- The latest cycle before the expedition was likely from the incursion of elves and humans attacking orc tribes in Zorike.
- The two outsiders believed that the current expedition might be the only present Prime sentients.
- Summoned creatures cannot return to their home plane when summoned to Kmuzat. For immortal creatures such as the angelic Mercy or the fiendish Vengeance, this means that not even death is a true escape. They reform in the divine plane of Kmuzat.
- Mercy and Vengeance have been with Kmuzat since near the beginning of the plane. At this point, they largely do not interact with the denizens of the plane unless it amuses them.
- There are elementals (including a djinn) somewhere on the plane.
- Kmuzat uses some aspect of Prime visitors to innovate their creations. It is unclear if this means mutating generations, harvesting body parts, consuming souls, merely observing them, or some other factor.
- Mercy implied that the party might be part of Kmuzat too through resource consumption.
- Kmuzat's aasimar-like avatar hasn't been seen since about two or three cycles of Prime visitors ago.
- The Errant Merchant has a long-distance relationship that manifests in cycles with a spirit in Kmuzat of the earth and mineral wealth. The spirit sends gifts to the merchant through its coins that the merchant accepts in exchange of magical items that are emanations of the merchant's magic.
- The party is blessed with reincarnating life. One guaranteed method of escape is death.
- The two outsiders know of no other means of escape other than entreating Kmuzat for escape.
- The party might encounter the outsiders again.
Rewards Granted
- One challenge encounter provided 120gp and 230sp for each party member.
Missions/Quests Completed
- The party reached the strange structure and discovered it as an aqueduct complex.
