In the morning, the adventurers, Pōtiki Harthe and Shoo meet once more in the main hall of The Drunken Pilgrim Inn of Millfield. Horren Grumdor is notably absent. The group discuss their plans for the day. Deciding to first go deal with the rats in the mine for Jolmin Singen and then see what other jobs might be available on the Millfield Community Board. Once finished their meal, Pōtiki goes upstairs to check on Horren to see if he is dead. He is fine but very hungover and ill and does not want to leave his bed. They decide to go without him for the day.   The party journey through the Taesai Woods and find the mine described to them by Jolmin after getting briefly lost. The mine is as Jolmin described, overrun with swarms of rats and giant rats. They manage to kill all of them including the rat king. The mine was mostly empty and they returned to Jolmin with the news of their success. Jolmin was overjoyed and told them about how he would now be able to mine for a special metal in order to make a ring for his husband Calarel Singen. He asked them for the name of their party as in return for their services he wanted to share word with the Dwarven Smithing Guild so that they would get a discount with any member of the guild they trade with. They told him they did not have a name yet. He told them he would try and describe them to his fellow members but suggested that they should establish themselves as a band of adventurers by coming up with a name soon.   The group then decide to leave the warning of the dangerous cave alone, and discuss whether or not to pursue the notice asking for magic users. Harthe and Pō worry about revealing themselves to be magic users after their discovery of the note in the slavers' tent about targeting spellcasters. They decide to go ahead and pursue the lead, assured that they could deal with whatever threat may or may not come their way. They are surprised when Shoe tells them he doesn't do magic. They realise that he doesn't understand his innate abilities to be magical and the tell him he needs to keep his abilities on the down low. He is confused, but agrees.   The party go to the Millfield Temple as directed by the community notice. They are greeted by Ilin Longfoot and Suiadan is immediately mesmerised by her. She fetches Brynn Foster who upon hearing the reason for their visit, leads them to Millfield Mill and introduces them to Oswald Keller. Brynn gives Oswald a nod and then leaves. Oswald then asks the group for complete discretion before telling them he needs help curing his son Rory Keller from a curse of lycanthropy. He leads them to the Millfield Town Hall where Cedric Woodleaf is teaching the children of Millfield as best he can, though until Oswald steps in the room and the children snap to attention, it is clear to see that he does not have great control of the situation. Oswald pulls Rory out of the makeshift classroom so that the party can ask him questions. They ask Oswald to leave them alone to talk with him. They learn that he was out in the Taesai woods a few months ago playing with his siblings but ventured too far and doesn't remember anything. He tells them that ever since then, his father sometimes locks him in a cage under the barn all night and he doesn't know why. They send him back to the classroom. Oswald tells them that Micah Gilmyar from the Millfield Hunters' Guild found the boy and brought him to the temple where Brynn was able to heal his wounds so that Rory was able to return home safe and well. His mother Jodie Keller was none the wiser, but Oswald noticed that he had ripped and torn clothes. When he asked Micah about it, he confirmed that they had killed a werewolf nearby and that Rory was likely attacked by it. He started locking Rory in a cage under the barn on nights of the full moon as a precaution and his suspicions were confirmed that Rory had been infected with lycanthropy. He was desperate for a cure and for his wife to never find out. Harthe assured him that they would try their best.   They then go to Flora Apothecary where they observe even more damage to the store's structure, but Atheona Daemaris is still willfully disregarding their passing concerns. They ask if she has anything that can help with lycanthropy. She tells them that it is far beyond her capabilities, but she does have a scroll that could help. Harthe buys it off her along with a few items the spell requires as per the scroll. They next visit The Red Barn Tradepost to get a few other supplies for the spell. There they meet Evindal Helefir who sells them the supplies and also sells a Mystery Key to Shoo. She also gives Pō an amulet for free.   It is nightfall by now but they decide to pay Millfield Hunters' Guild a visit. There is no one at the front desk but they hear chatter and cheers from the room beyond. Pō calls out and there is the sound of scrabbling and hushing before Dimia Commonbrook steps out into the front room. Suspicious but focused, Pō asks to speak with Micah Gilmyar. Dimia goes back into the back room and fetches him. Micah comes out and in between flirting with everyone, tells them about finding Rory in the forest and killing the werewolf. He tells them that there are all sorts of beasts in the woods but werewolves are not common so close to the town. He tells them that he and his colleagues traced the werewolf back to its nest and killed all the werewolves there so the risk of future attacks is low. He wishes them luck with curing Rory.   Armed with information and the goods required, Harthe feels like he has as much as he needs to perform the ritual though he feels woefully underqualified. The last thing needed is time as the ritual needs to be performed during the full moon which is not for another 4 days. The adventurers return to The Drunken Pilgrim for their evening meal and sleep.
