Wakanga O'Tamu
Despite control of Port Nyanzaru being divided equally, at least officially, between the seven Merchant Princes, if any of them could be said to have overall authority in most respects it would be Wakanga. He is also, perhaps more arguably the most powerful single member, being the only one with mastery over the arcane arts. More than any other Prince, he will attend and engage with council meetings in Goldenthrone, but otherwise will spend most of his time researching and organising his vast personal library, within his Villa, which is full of magically conjured music, lights and enchanted statues and decor.
Wakanga is generally open to hosting audiences with those who may offer magical knowledge or other lore, or those groups petitioning for more access to the items he controls within the city, i.e. magically enhanced arms and armour, spell scrolls, and other magical objects.
His Chamberlain, The Wren, is a close friend, and enchanter.
Wakanga has hired The Sexiles to perform a mission of a delicate nature, sending his agent, Kristoff Kallahn, to guide them to M'Kufu Uwanja's Villa to investigate dark magic. Once they defeated M'Kufu Uwanja and stopped his ritual, Wakanga decreed the Sexiles to be the new owners of the residence, and gifted them magical items. Studying M'Kufu's texts, he discovered that the wizard was attempting to become a Lich, and had taken much learning from a more powerful source.
Wakanga is knowledgable about certain lore, history and magics, but his interest in Ubtao has until now been mostly academic. He is impressed that the Sexiles bring proof of Ubtao's sacred artifacts, he does not see a connection to the Death Curse but reasons such powerful items would at the very least hold some strength against whatever might be encountered.
