The Voros Kal Torz is one of the few tribes of
orcs residing east of the Great Divide. Settled in the west of
Ilyria, the Voros Kal remain staunch allies of humanity. The Voros Kal can be found throughout northern and central
Khalon, living and working alongside other races.
History
Elven Era
During the
Orcish Migration, orcish tribes invaded
Morenthyr from the Perpetual Desert, pillaging cities across
Khalon. The Voros Kal were first encountered in 1237, involved in minor skirmishes on the outskirts of the Empire. Primarily located around Thal'Melan, the Voros Kal operated as raiders, looting gold and other valuables from surrounding areas. Compared to many of the other Orcish torz, the Voros Kal were on the small side, shorter and slimmer. As such, they had less physical strength.
In 1278, an Elven army under the command of
Cirril Ancalan successfully eradicated the vast majority of the Voros Kal. 250 Orcs were kept alive and put in a secret prison camp deep in the Theyannoran Jungle. This secret facility experimented with biological agents, developing deadly plagues for potential use against
orcs . Under the direction of Cirril Ancalan, an aggression enhancer was used on some of the strongest prisoners in an attempt to create super-soldiers. These orcs underwent massive mutations, becoming much larger. Their intellect was also reduced to that of a child. For the elves, the ability to control these mutated orcs remained elusive.
In 1350, the Voros Kal were freed from their prison by agents of the
Great Revolt. The Orcs which were experimented on were partially cured by Lomhal the Healer, who was able to clear their rage and return some sense of thought and capacity to them. These cured, mutated orcs eventually became known as ogres. The Voros Kal and the ogres were led back to
Calydon, reinforcing the rebellion that had begun to blossom there.]
Modern Era
Since the partial collapse of
Morenthyr, the orcs of the Voros Kal have integrated into the majority human states of central
Khalon. Many Voros Kal live in
Ilyria and northern
Gaul along the coast.
