Steel Gully

Branching off from Gorogoro, Steel Gully was founded as a secondary mining town to supply the Tamago Foundry. They harness water power from the nearby Lake Kyo with a hydroelectric dam. Most of the settlement is built within Mount Manami.

Government

Ran by a mayor elected by the town who is supported by The Chamber Of Five in Gorogoro. They're in a close alliance with Gorogoro but aren't ruled by them directly.

Defences

They mostly use natural defenses built into the cliffs, but have a modest militia and plenty of traps to mount a fierce defense.

Industry & Trade

Mining town, primarily an iron mine. They also have many underground farms with mushrooms and lot of pigs

Infrastructure

This is a very industrialized town, with water wheels producing electricity to run various mills, mining equipment and the elevators that move between the various levels of the town.

Districts

The Fanged Burrow: The military headquarters of Steel Gully, the area closest to the surface is full of militia members working to repel various threats to the community such as wandering monsters or warbands.   The Cradle: The residential area of Steel Gully, there are many housing compounds carved into the stone of the mountain. Many have expanded and connected as families intermarried.   Take Forest: The mushroom forest, this area is focused on agriculture and animal husbandry. They particularly raise massive edible mushrooms and pigs.   Manami Mine: Deeper still is the mine where workers and constructs work to get iron and other minerals and metals from the bowels of the earth.

History

Branching off from Gorogoro, Steel Gully was founded as a secondary mining town to supply the Tamago Foundry in 214. They harness water power from the nearby Lake Kyo and nestle within the valleys. Most of the settlement was already within Mount Manami, so during the Squall they abandoned the exterior buildings, reconnecting with Gorogoro in 372 afterwards.

Points of interest

Gully Dam: They built a dam from water flowing from Lake Kyo into Lake Chiaki, a salt lake downriver. The water wheels it runs powers various equipment throughout the town.
  Take Forest: An expansive mushroom forest cultivated for food.
  The Sloshed Shaft: A tavern run out of an old mineshaft.
  Manami Station: The train station for the Shadowfield Sprinter

Architecture

Built into the side of Mount Manami, most of the buildings are honeycombed throughout the stone or hanging from the canyon walls.
