Ubos

Ubos is a county that is located on the eastern fringe of the Nefadric Empire's mainland and is of massive importance, as the capital Aodios lies on the Viirc Mesa in the east of the region. Further reasons for Ubos great value is it's extreme development, high poplulation, production capabilites and natural resorces.
However there are two very different reasons that have led Ubos to grow to a powerhouse of this magnitude were due to it's highly defendably geographpy, as the Blackrock Mountain Range and the Shareware Sea heavily restrict angles of attack and create a natural bottleneck at the only access, useable by an army of noteworthy size, at the western enterance of the region. The second reason is very simple, the Nefadric Empire was founded in this vicinity and for that reason was an obvious choice as the Empire grew.
As of today, Ubos features an abnormally high concentration of settelments and an unusaly many large cities. Sorted by population in decending order these are: Aodios, Ylendiff, [Dwarven Hold]

Geography

North

Black Rock Mountain Range

Across the entire north of Ubos is the colossal Black Rock Mountain Range that forms a hardly crossable border to the Icewind expanses. Within that mountains are multiple points of interest: On the north-west side is the Black Rock Fortress, sitting close to the spring of Sinar's Stream and right at the notorius Sinar's Death Fall Cascades, protecting the western entrance of Ubos. While the North is guarded by the most perilious parts of the Omyhx Thicket, it still has plenty of undiscovered caves and within them some of the worst horrors of the forrest. However on the east side of the Black Rocks is the Black Rock Frontier, a huge mining colony of the Elemental Extens Mining Group. The Mountains end at the Sherware Sea with a daunting cliff, the Screeching Wall.

Omyhx Thicket

The most of the North has been swallowed by the Omyhx Thicket, so that is largely remains untamed wild. The further to the center the more villages and small towns are to be found, otherwise only a few roads lead to the Black Rocks, usually to mining colonies with exceptions being the feared Omyhx Woodcamps and the largest one the well maintaned connection road of the Black Rock Fortress.

Climate

Ubos used to have mild but still temperate oceanic climate before the the inception of the icewind durring the Black Crusade in - , now Ubos has a mild humid continetal climate. Due to the direct proxyimity to the Sherware Sea and because of the large mountains, strong winds and heavy rain are frequent.

Pollution

Ubos is plauged by pollution, though the general public (excluding schoolars and magic users) is oblivious to that, since it is mostly of arcane nature. The pollution has become severe enough that it actually affects the weather, with the first incident of Scarlett Rain in - and the first incident of Flesh Eater Mist in - .

However mundane pollution has risen sharply due to the industrialisation efforts of Aodios, the Drakeforge Military Harbour and Yelendiff. Especially the air arround Aodios and the Drakeforge Military Harbour reek of coal, metal and fire constantly.

Farmlands of Ylendiff

The Farmland of Ylendiff are a large expanse of very fertile, arable land that have been developed with irregation channels are terrase farms that maximize the agricultural output.
The Farmlands were massivly hit by the abrupt climate change, recovering took almost three decades of combined effort from framers, botanists and schoolarsr by finding and cultivating suited crops for the new, much colder conditions. While the technology of the Farmland has drasticly improved, it still sufferes from the pollution produced by the new industry of Aodios and the Drakeforge Military Harbour.

Ubos is the heavily fortified capital province of the The Nefadric Empire. It is a center of innovation, site of living nefadric history and a true beacon of Jubixian Faith. It's regional development is astounding, providing a vast number of services.

The great ubodian region stands proud and vast, so that all may gaze in wonderment.

Though Ubos is not a paradise by far. Due to the high population, food is expensive and in part depended on external supply. And while efforts have been made, disease and plagues run rampart in the cities. Magical Hazards like the perilous Omyhx Thicket and evil weather are horrors that are beyond the imagination of those not native to the region.
