Pholoman Carqu

Chairman Pholoman Carqu

Pholoman Carqu was born in 1919 in the region of Iosc when The Ral War was occurring. The region he lived in had frequent fighting in it between Ral and The Tar Faction. From a young age he would be apart of rebel cells that would assasinate anyone associated with the Tars.   At the city of Yuar the Tars after being pushed out decided to go in a torch the city. Pholoman was one of the survivors as he ended up being in a area that didn't get set aflame. After the Tars left Zarek Porv found him and let him join his unit as a soldier due to the fact he had no where else to go, Yuar was his home. Pholoman had terrible anger issues, stole things, smoked Leaf, but eventually he came around and rose to the rank of sergeant in Porv's unit.    After many years of service, Pholoman suffered from the traumas of war and wanted to not fight anymore but still help the Rals, so he decided to leave the military to work as a humanitarian worker in Citar. When he was about to leave for the city, an election was about to be held to determine who the new chairman was going to be. The prior chairman, Jarek Porv, was killed in an attack by bandits from The Tar Faction, and a replacement was to be sought out by the Senate. As this was happening, Pholoman was about to leave his unit in the middle of their Campaign against The Tar Faction, but before he left, Zarek Porv asked him to appear before the Senate and try to become a candidate for chairman. Pholoman, of course, didn't think it was possible, since he was just an eastern sergeant with a reputation that dwarfed that of Zarek's. Yet despite this, Zarek insisted that he should try, since the Senate would want someone who had experience in the war and someone who people viewed as a common man. Reluctantly, and not thinking it would work, Pholoman went to Citar and asked to participate in the election for chairman, honoring his commander. When Pholoman appeared before the Ral Senate and the other candidates, he gave an amazing speech, which, combined with the things that Zarek had mentioned, made him an unexpectedly strong candidate for chairman. Even though he was a member of The Communion Of Jax, which was generally looked down upon in Ral, he was voted in by the Senate to become chairman. Pholoman was shocked but took the job, knowing what he could do with his new power. As soon as he got into office, he paid tribute to the deceased Jarek Porv and began his reign.   During his rule he commanded much of the military himself, unlike other chairmen who let the generals and commanders take charge more. Due to his previous command and experience in war, he was good at directing the military, and after he started issuing orders, Ral made significant progress in its south and north. He made lots of progress in the south since Zarek Porv, his old superior and friend, was still fighting in his Campaign against The Tar Faction, aiding the rest of the Ral forces. Most notably, during his reign, he allied and coordinated with the three nations of The Aiden League after they joined the war under Decarn.   Unfortunately, Pholoman's old military unit, commanded by Commander Porv, was destroyed in The Ambush Of The Plains, with no one surviving. They had their Campaign which resulted in massive and long-lasting success for Ral, but they were destroyed in the end due to how deep they went into the territory of The Faction. The news hit Pholoman hard, and he mourned for their loss while also understanding that while they were dead, they had done a good thing by sacrificing their lives to push back The Tar Faction and weaken them. After they had done this, it opened a window for the eventual conquest of The Tar Faction in 1955. In this conquest The Tar Faction was seriously weakened after Zarek's Campaign, which made the battles easier and more successful for Ral. Pholoman focused on the south the most during the later days of the war, while also sending troops to fight in The Salican Dynasty with The Aiden League. Under Chairman Pholoman's rule with the help of various rebel cells as well as the nations of The Aiden League, The Ral War was finally brought to an end, with Ral regaining its old territory as well as the new territory of the Eusd Land, which was formerly The Tar Faction and was renamed.   After so many years of war, it finally ended with Pholoman. After it ended, he stepped down as chairman so that the Senate could select a new leader for the people. There were those who wanted him to continue as their leader, but Pholoman insisted he give up his power. Long ago, at the beginning of the war, Chairman Guy and the Senate of his time made the rule that chairmen could serve until death only during the war, and once it was over, they had to return to serving regular terms. Pholoman, knowing that the war was in fact over and wanting to respect the wiser leaders who came before him, stepped down and gave up his power. He later dwelled and had a family in his old home in Iosc, where he eventually died.

Reign

Pholoman was remembered as someone who helped bring an end to The Ral War, and while as became chairman he didn't fight himself, Pholoman did have good policies in place that helped the people during the later days of the war and also would order the military around himself. These two things, along with the help he received from others, helped lead to the victory of Ral in the war. Lastly, he was remembered for stepping down voluntarily when the war ended to honor the nation and its previous leaders and leave room for democracy.
