Geography

Mistwood is situated in a lush, forested region of the Kingdom of Silverhelm. The city’s geography is shaped by its proximity to the vast Mistwood Forest to the north and east, and the Mistwood River, which flows from the heart of the woods and winds its way through the city's western edge.

Mistwood Forest

A dense, ancient forest that surrounds the city to the north and east. The Mistwood Forest is known for its towering trees—mainly oaks, elms, and silver birches—that form a thick canopy, casting deep shadows on the forest floor. The undergrowth is dense with ferns, moss, and a variety of shrubs, providing a habitat for numerous wildlife species.

Mistwood River

A wide, slow-flowing river that originates deep within the Mistwood Forest. The river cuts through the western edge of the city, serving as a natural boundary and a crucial water source.

Rolling Hills

To the south and west of Mistwood, the landscape gives way to gently rolling hills, dotted with small farms, orchards, and pastures. These hills create a natural barrier and offer vantage points overlooking the city.

Silverveil Waterfalls

A series of cascading waterfalls located to the northeast of the city, where the Mistwood River begins its descent from the elevated forest terrain. The waterfalls create a constant mist in the air, contributing to the city's name.

Ferncliffe Ridge

A rocky outcrop that rises to the northwest of Mistwood, offering stunning views of the city and the surrounding forest. The ridge is covered with ferns, ivy, and small, hardy trees that cling to the rocky surface.

The Whispering Glade

A secluded meadow within the Mistwood Forest, located a short distance from the city. It is a tranquil area where the trees thin out, and sunlight filters down to create a soft, ethereal glow.

Glimmerstone Caverns

A network of underground caves and tunnels located beneath Mistwood and extending into the surrounding forest. The caves are named for their walls, which are embedded with faintly glowing minerals.
