Ivira is a member of the Great Ones of the Shianti Empire . She served as the high enchanter of Ythryn during The Fall of Ythryn . As the magic fled Ythryn , she sought refuge in the central spire and was part of a small group that survived the days following the fall. As Nothic s prowled the city, and Gnothic Blight infected the survivors, Ivira took refuge with the remaining High Magi.
As the infection started to take them, Ivira came upon the idea of suspending their transformation by extracting their brains into jars. She extracted the others, except Iorlanthis whose undead nature protected him from the blight. And finally, she arranged fore removal of her brain, but she set the enclosure into a golem warrior she had crafted earlier.
Unlike the other High Magi of Ythryn , Ivira was able to maintain her sanity. She waited for millenia and lit upon the idea of using Iorlanthis 's Staff of Power to activate the Chronomantic Obelisk. Though damaged, she hoped it might reverse the damage that had destoryed the city. She spoke with the The Antiquarian Association , but feels that they have abandoned her after recovering the Ebony Spindle .
